Our Doctor

​​​​​Dr. Kirolos Fahmy is the proud owner of Canyon Optometry and provides routine and same-day emergency eye care to patients. Being a Southern Californian native, Dr. Fahmy grew up in Ventura, California. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, while also being the co-founder and president of the USC PreOptometry Club. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California where he was a board member of the Cornea/Contact Lens club.

Dr. Fahmy’s ocular disease training includes diverse modes of practice with the Eye Institute of Utah, Naval Medical Center of San Diego, the Long Beach VA Medical Center, and Tséhootsooí Medical Center on the Navajo Reservation. He gained experience in the diagnosis and treatment of general eye diseases, which include glaucoma, dry eyes, cataracts, diabetic eye examinations as well as emergency foreign body removals.

Prior to joining Canyon Optometry, Dr. Fahmy worked at ophthalmology surgery centers in the Inland Empire. He headed the keratoconus and the dry eye clinic as well as managing complex ocular disease cases. Dr. Fahmy also has experience being the clinical director of a major contact lens company where he advised practicing doctors about their complex and difficult contact lens patients as well as running clinical trials on new innovative lenses.

Dr. Fahmy lives in Orange County with his wife Alex, a clinical pharmacist. He is a USC Trojan fan, as well as enjoys following all of the local teams including the Los Angeles Rams, Lakers, and Anaheim Ducks. He is an active member of the California Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
